L’exposition de la Collection Lambert déploiera une large sélection d’œuvres d’un des artistes les mieux représentés dans la collection, mettant à l’honneur un art drolatique, jubilatoire, coloré, foisonnant, rappelant tout autant le grand coloriste Gaston Chaissac que les grivoiseries d’une décennie de totale liberté de pensée, à mille lieues de notre époque plombée par le politiquement correct et le retour des morales idéologiques et religieuses qui dominent tous nos débats.
Dans les cinquante ans de l’histoire de la galerie d’Yvon Lambert, l’artiste Robert Combas occupe une place très spécifique. Il arrive au milieu des années quatre-vingt, époque de véritable révolution du marché de l’art et de l’histoire de la peinture. La peinture figurative qui avait été enterrée et bannie pendant quinze ans refait surface un peu partout dans le monde.
A l’inauguration de l’exposition, la Collection Lambert organisera également un concert inédit des Sans Pattes, le groupe de Robert Combas et Lucas Mancione.

The Collection Lambert displays a wide selection of works by one of the artists who is highly present in the collection. This exhibition features jubilant, humourous art teeming with colour and movement, bringing to mind both Gaston Chaissac, the great colourist, and the ribald decade where any and everything could be said and thought, light years away from the present era where PC and moral and religious ideology dominate the scene. In the fifty years of the history of Yvon Lambert’s gallery, artist Robert Combas holds a highly specific place. He showed up in the mid-80’s, a time of upheaval in the art market and the history of painting. Figurative art which had been dead and buried for some fifteen years revived around the world.
For the inauguration of this exhibition, the Collection Lambert will also be holding a very special concert by Les Sans Pattes, Robert Combas and Lucas Mancione’s group.

L’exposition est née du projet de performance initiée par le Chorégraphe Thierry Thieû Niang dans le cadre du Festival d’Avignon, mettant en scène des enfants n’ayant jamais dansé, qui expérimentent le vocabulaire du corps, la précision d’un geste ou l’aboutissement d’une intention. Claude Lévêque se joint au projet avec une œuvre originale en néon, d’autres œuvres d’artistes de renommée internationale viendront s’inscrire l’exposition : Annette Messager, Roni Horn, Adel Abdessemed, Marlène Dumas, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, exposés auprès de chefs-d’œuvre du fonds de la Collection.
AMOS GITAÏ - Chronique d’un assassinat.
Dans le cadre du Festival d’Avignon. Dans la grande galerie de l’Hôtel de Caumont, l’artiste proposera un nouveau dispositif immersif né de son dernier film : Rabin, The Last Day, présenté lors du 72e festival du Film de Venise. Céramiques, photographies, installations vidéos et documents d’archives, investissent l’espace pour proposer une nouvelle lecture des événements menant à l’assassinat, le 4 novembre 1995, du premier ministre Israélien Yitzhak Rabin.

This exhibit took root in the performance initiated by the choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang as part of the Festival d’Avignon. The performance staged children who had never danced before and experiments with the vocabulary of the body, the precision of movement, the conclusion of an intention. Claude Lévêque displays an original work in neon, and other works by internationally known artists will also be part of the exhibit: Annette Messager, Roni Horn, Adel Abdessemed, Marlène Dumas, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, on display alongside the masterpieces from the Collection.
AMOS GITAÏ - Chronicle of an assassination
Part of the Festival d’Avignon. In the Grande Galerie in the Hôtel de Caumont mansion, the artist proposes a new immersive event arising from his recent film: Rabin, The Last Day, shown at the 72nd Venice Film Festival. Ceramics, photographs, installations videos and archive documents fill the space and offer a different understanding of the events which led up to the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin on November 4th 1995.
